Our Values

The International Special Sports Association (ISSA) is guided by a set of fundamental values rooted in the Olympic Charter, recognised principles of good governance, and the established standards of international sports organisations. These values form the basis of ISSA’s decision-making processes, institutional policies, and external relations at all levels.

ISSA upholds the universality of sport as a shared language that fosters dialogue, mutual respect, and solidarity among nations. The Association is committed to promoting sport as a vehicle for human, cultural, and social development in line with the ideals of the Olympic Movement.

The principle of equality and non-discrimination is central to ISSA’s mission. In accordance with the spirit and provisions of the Olympic Charter, ISSA is committed to ensuring equal opportunities within the sporting framework, without discrimination based on nationality, gender, race, belief, or cultural background.

Good governance, institutional transparency, and accountability constitute the core of ISSA’s values. The Association operates through clearly defined structures, responsible decision-making processes, and full respect for the technical autonomy of its member and partner organisations.

ISSA further adheres to the principles of neutrality, institutional independence, and constructive international cooperation, seeking to foster a stable, fair, and professional environment for the sustainable development of mind and skill-based sports worldwide.

These values define the institutional identity of ISSA and provide the ethical and operational foundation for its engagement with federations, associations, and international sports bodies
